Barents University - Kirkenes

With the goal of initiating a shift in the current economic and ecological approach to the Barents region, the partially vacant grounds of Sydvaranger AS - a mining operation in Kirkenes (Finnmark / Norway) - are to be reimagined as a university-industry collaboration. The plan is to organize the area as a campus, with a highlighted example being a marine biological institute, illustrated partly in the existing structure and partly as a new construction in the design.
