Due to the corona pandemic in the summer semester 2020, the compulsory excursion in the second semester was spontaneously reorganized and took place within the students' own four walls and immediate living environment. During these first months of the pandemic, in which all teaching took place exclusively digitally, many of the students returned home to their families and friends. The students were asked to closely observe, document and analyze their own microworld - their own room, its details, the view from the rooms and the immediate surroundings - using sketches, notes and photographs. In between, students communicated with each other in groups several times a day and repeatedly with the lecturers online. This intensive exploration of the immediate living environment was intended to train the students' architectural, urban planning and landscape perception. This resulted in very personal, interesting and different analyses and sketches from the many places and countries our students come from. These works were documented in the publication Journey through the everyday.
