The KOEN Institute's first Beginners Workshop took place in the abandoned factory of Waagner Biro in the new Smart City area. During the first three days of the architecture program 142 students, divided into seven studios, worked together in the empty and unused factory. On the way to the building, the search for architectural elements was practiced for the first time and a mapping was created to point out the context in which the factory stood. The students built room-filling structures out of cardboard, wood and fabric and squatted the space for three days. The first course on architecture concluded with a joint tour in which all the works were presented.
