Von Acryl bis Zement
The publication Von Acryl bis Zement deals with the possibilities and relevance of model making in contemporary architectural practice and its teaching. The book aims to impart basic knowledge about the diverse materials, techniques and tools used in model making and is intended not only to inspire, but also to encourage experimentation with different materials and to support one's own decisions in model making. University assistant Dipl. Ing. Barbara Gruber has selected, analyzed and sorted models from the many wonderful projects that have been created in the field of model making at the KOEN Institute over the last 10 years and compiled and described them for this publication. It presents an extensive collection of architectural models created over the past decade by dedicated students and the Architectural Model Workshop team. The models are arranged by material in alphabetical order. For each model making material, examples of models are shown: from quickly built, abstract working models to precisely crafted presentation models. In order to give the reader an additional understanding of the context in which the models were created, the publication is supplemented by detailed articles on a selection of projects created at the KOEN Institute and courses held by the KOEN Institute.
