In spring 2023 the KOEN Institute visited Milan with 185 students as part of the excursion in the second semester. For five days the Italian city with its architecture, paths, squares and special atmosphere was intensively explored, sketched and experienced by the students. The excursion week started with a tour of the vibrant Navigli district and a stroll through the historic centre of Milan. On the second day the students were able to take part in a guided tour of the building of Bocconi University and then walked through the Porta Nuova district. The trip on the third day took the students through the eastern part of Milan and ended with an exciting event at the architecture faculty of the Politecnico di Milano. A full-day excursion to Lake Como on the fourth day focussed on rationalist architecture. The fifth and final day of the excursion offered a flexible programme with a visit to a museum of the participants' choice.
