In the summer semester of 2023 the KOEN Institute was invited by the curatorial team of the German Pavilion at the 18th Architecture Biennale in Venice to organize a workshop together with the Chair of Sustainable Building at KIT and the non-profit organisation Baukreisel. In the last week of September 22 students from three different universities, 10 students from Graz, 10 from Karlsruhe and 2 from IUAV Venice various architectonic interventions were planned and realized. The local cooperation partner was the Spazio Punch art association on the island of Guidecca. The operators of the association wanted various interventions for their covered courtyard including a new bar, a weatherproof enclosure for the winter months, a new lighting concept and a new storage. The students were prefabricating the interventions at the German Pavilion and assembled the final result at the Spazio Punch on the island of Guidecca.

Students of TU Graz: Florian Berger, Hanna Gilly, Julian Lança Gil, Budour Khalil, Sabeth Moschitz, Kerstin Neuhold, Nicole Pühringer, Christina Radl, Natalia Vasadze, Ludwig Albert Zibold
