The students at the Faculty of Architecture can be described as a very heterogeneous group. Some of the first-semester students have already completed five years of training at a school that is specialized in jobs with a technical approach, while others are career changers and have already worked for a few years. The majority of students come to the architecture degree programme without any specific prior knowledge, but with a solid basic education from a general secondary school. In order to make the best possible use of students' different prior knowledge, the KOEN Institute ensures that students spend time and work together in as diverse group as possible from day one at the so called studios. This is the only way to guarantee that students can learn from each other and exchange knowledge.
