Every year, the KOEN Institute Sketchbook Award is awarded at the official summer exhibition of the Faculty of Architecture at the end of the summer semester. 10 sketchbooks from the first year of study are nominated for awards and prizes. The main focus in selecting the winners is not on who was able to create the best individual drawings, but on the extent to which the sketchbook was used to develop, elaborate and present design ideas. The prize is intended to encourage students to use their sketchbook on an ongoing basis in order to develop a sketching routine.
