Part of the design and construction courses at the KOEN Institute is learning from contemporary reference projects. During these partial exercises, which usually last one week, students have to build models of contemporary architectural projects using plans and photographic material provided. In a second step, the finished models are then presented to the colleagues in the studios and discussed. The reference models not only broaden the students' architectural horizons, but also train and test their ability to read plans, scale and translate from a two-dimensional medium into a three-dimensional medium.
