As part of an exhibition project for the Graz Museum Schlossberg, the KOEN Institute developed a concept for an interactive landscape model. At the heart of the development was the vision of a model of the Schlossberg as the central element of a multimedia narrative about the history of the site. A 3.5 x 2 x 0.8 m model made of finely structured perforated sheet metal was developed, the materiality of which can change between opaque and transparent through targeted lighting, depending on whether the fortifications or the tunnels of the Schlossberg are to be in focus.
