A major concern of the KOEN Institute is to understand analogue architectural models not only as a miniaturization of buildings and cities, but also to understand analogue models as design media for the generation of discussion bases and the creation of prototypes for development processes and architectural research. Model making should be anchored in the students' understanding as an essential real-time design medium. In the elective subjects Model Making I (winter semester) and Model Making II (summer semester), the interdisciplinary connection between analogue and digital working methods as well as the contemporary representational requirements of an architectural model are taught.
