Antanzen – Dance Hub at the Postpassage

Dance in Graz remains a neglected topic. Dance, as a significant cultural contribution, deserves and requires more support in Austria, especially in the capital of Styria. The envisioned dance centre is the core focus of this work. It aims to create a meeting point centred around the discipline of dance, covering all conceivable aspects. For the creation of this new cultural venue, an existing resource will be utilized. The chosen location is Dreihackengasse 42, known as the Postgarage, which has long been labeled in the minds of the city's residents as a club. It is an existing building whose beauty and potential have long been forgotten. The original structure will form the foundation of the design, interacting with new structures. The goal is to make the hidden visible again and highlight it, integrate the new, and be inspired by the existing. A true duet of old and new architecture.
