Äquilibrium - On Distance and Proximity in the City
Housing - a basic human need. It is a complex phenomenon per se, very strongly linked to the characteristics of society and therefore inevitably dependent on an analysis within a certain social context. The population has changed dramatically over the last 100 years in connection with new information and communication technologies, associated work and mobility models as well as political and economic systems. Looking at current analyses of demographic change, the trend towards urban agglomerations is clear. The expansion of the concept of density in relation to the city forms the theoretical basis of this work. In the final part of this work, the sociological, technological, political and economic challenges of the future are bundled, analyzed and translated into an architectural design.
