A Bathhouse for Women

My motivation to create a project for women as my thesis initially had no feminist agenda. Rather, my interest in how gender roles and images develop inspired me to choose this topic. Throughout the work, the question of my own identity as a woman was a constant companion, both consciously and unconsciously. Therefore, it felt natural for me to design a building specifically for women, although the same question could be explored from a male perspective. However, as my work progressed, I became increasingly certain that it’s important to offer gender-specific spaces. So, this is also a call to men: Create something for yourselves! Explore men’s needs instead of resisting everything designed for women.
