The KOEN Institute regularly organizes field trips in the design seminars and the construction exercises in order to deepen the theoretical teaching on built objects. This allows students to experience and understand architecture in the truest sense of the word. Over the years, the Islamic Cultural Center in Graz, the Terrassenhaussiedlung, the Reininghaus area, which is currently under development, and the general secondary school in Reininghaus have all been visited. The various field trips were always combined with lectures, guided tours and sketching and mapping exercises in order to strengthen knowledge about the locations.
